A perfect night to watch the Kingsley JV football team v/s Gaylord
Elvis was in town!! July, 2022 at Culvers in Traverse City . . . and so were the State Police! Dean in the police car and Angie with a song by "Elvis", both could not be better! Rest of the guys touring the car show (benefit for DAV). Great evening.
July 2021 trip to Cedar Valley Amusement Park, Comins, MI. Bumper cars were the hit of the day + the roller coaster. Small crowd so repeated rides on the bumper cars. Only 4 cars and at times all 4 were drivers from the Rainbow of Hope "driving school". A great time by everyone!!
Christmas 2020 and some of the over 500 Christmas cards sent to our residents!
Summertime 2020, ways to have fun and maintain "social distance" . . . baling hay with Eddie and cookout with Tammy (above) and no barbershop? No problem, let Dean work on Bruce!! Also cooking, golfing, visit a donkey farm with Deborah, walks to see the eagle nest and fishing with Elizabeth.
Thank you; Dave & Chase Bott, Andy & Caleb Bott, Chris Vermuelen, Jeff, Keri & Luke Puffer, Dave Handy, Kyle Griffin, Jason Rice and Cherryland Electric for Gator and Boom truck.

Blueberries !

Thanks to a June, 2013 Oleson Grant, ROHF was able to purchase and plant over 400 blueberries. In the spring of 2014, 350 more were planted with another 100 in 2015. The one acre area has an eight foot "deer fence" thanks to Kingsley HS students and Rainbow of Hope residents.
The purpose of the project is to provide future job opportunities for residents on the farm with the potential to expand to other products such as blueberry pies/muffins in addition to blueberries.
The ground was tilled, red pine needles/peat moss added as a mulch, holes dug and blueberries planted by residents of Rainbow of Hope.

Barn Market June and September, 2013 - 2018

Tammy Simmerson (R), owner of the Red Dresser in Traverse City and friends organized a successful event at RHF, a "Barn Market". Initially 30 vendors displayed their unique items. In 2016, 51 vendors were present for the spring Barn Market. Rainbow of Hope volunteers are in charge of food concessions. Over 1,000 people attended in 2013 and closer to 2,000 in 2014. Many had an opportunity for the first time to see Rainbow of Hope Farm.
September 15, 2012 5K run at Rainbow of Hope Farm

2012 was the first year hosting a 5K at the farm. Most of the race was through wooded trails and with a beautiful day, it was a super event for the entire family. Overall winners received a "farm basket" of tomatoes, beans, peppers, eggplant, fresh eggs and homemade salsa. Every runner/walker also got a pint of our organically grown salsa and a very nice "Run to the end of the Rainbow" t-shirt.
